At first, there is nothing unusual about Katarina and Peter's marriage. Beneath the surface, however, they are driven by hellish desires. In the usual intimate and direct form of Dollar Papa's Children, the performance examines relationships torn apart by everyday life. The goal is to understand and get to like these characters during rehearsals, so that the audience can see them as lovable, at least for a short moment. Or is understanding just an illusion we want to believe in?

A száz évvel ezelőtt játszódó történet egy ukrajnai, zsidók és oroszok lakta faluban játszódik. Tevje, a tejesember és felesége, Golde egy olyan világ őrzői, melyet a közösség és vallás előírásai határoznak meg. Lányaik azonban már saját kezükbe akarják venni az életüket, szerelemből akarnak férjhez menni.
Egy letűnt korszak lenyomata, amely ma is érvényes tükröt tart elénk: hőseink áldozatok, megváltást keresők, megbocsátásra képtelen tévelygők, szerelemre vágyók, összeesküvők és megalkuvók. De mindegyikükben ott él a remény a szellem és lélek felemelkedésében.
